The Associated Press Stylebook recently showed left-leaning media bias.

On March 29, President Biden issued a “Proclamation on Transgender Day of Visibility,” which has fallen on March 31 every year since 2009 and Biden has recognized since 2021. Conservative news outlets and commentators tended to put a negative spin on the news, displaying sensationalism, opinion stated as fact, story choice bias, and bias by omission.

The New York Times published a video in its Opinion section that described the American “deep state” as “kind of awesome.” Several media outlets and pundits criticized the Times for its framing of what the “deep state” actually is, and the publication’s track record of writing about it in the past.

While speaking about China undercutting U.S. manufacturing, Trump said it would be a “bloodbath” if he lost the election.

Last week, AllSides published its 2023 Google News bias analysis which found the the aggregator skews significantly in favor of sources on the left, particularly those with a Lean Left rating. The study was widely viewed on X, and written about by several media outlets, mostly from the right.

A new report from independent journalists Michael Shellenberger and Matt Taibbi claims the CIA asked foreign allies to illegally spy on former President Donald Trump in the run-up to the 2016 election. Despite being covered by many sources from the Right, no sources from the Center or Left picked up the report, displaying bias by omission.

When Tucker Carlson confirmed he was in Moscow to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin, a report surfaced that he could be sanctioned by the EU for such a venture, spurring bias by omission.
