AllSides Media Bias Ratings News and Blog Posts

Since 2012, AllSides has rated the media bias of over 2,400 news media sources. Here's how some of those ratings have changed over time.

In Dec. 2024, 761 Americans across the political spectrum participated in a Blind Bias Survey, rating the political bias of articles from Associated Press, Breitbart, Washington Post, WIRED, and Washington Times. To enhance the reliability of these ratings, AllSides conducted additional Editorial Reviews of some of these outlets in Jan. 2025 and Feb. 2025.

The AllSides Bias Checker was launched in 2024. In alignment with the 7 Lenses for Evaluating AI for Civic Education we asked classrooms across the country to give us feedback on the AI-enhanced Bias Checker, because students should learn to be active analyzers of AI content, not just passive consumers. Students were asked to check an article in the Bias Checker and then answer the following questions.

The bias ratings of AP and The Guardian were moved from Lean Left to Left following numerous AllSides bias reviews.
