Psychology shows us that even the most well-meaning groups can get trapped in echo chambers and tripped up by invisible biases. We too often avoid reckoning with our differences, retreating into our ideological comfort zones.
AllSides’ partner Living Room Conversations has a solution: with a bit of the right structure, we turn what might otherwise be a heated conversation into a constructive dialogue.
In a moderated live event, participants show up (either offline or online), and after an introduction, are divided into small groups typically of 6 people each. Then they follow one of over 150 conversation guides (or a new guide customized for you) that have been carefully crafted to foster connection and understanding, and proven to reduce extremes and increase participants' openness to ideas and people different than they are.
