President Donald Trump enacted 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico on Tuesday, and 35% tariffs on China. The countries responded by placing equal tariffs of their own, with China blacklisting 20 US companies. Earlier today, Trump announced he would delay tariffs on Mexico for USMCA compliant goods. On Monday, the Dow fell by nearly 650 points as the market prepared for the tariffs.

Since taking office again in late January, Donald Trump has raised the possibility of buying Greenland, invading Panama, and swallowing Canada whole. Last week, the president continued to add items to his cart, suggesting that the United States could take over the Gaza Strip, forcibly move two million Palestinians to neighboring countries and repair the war-scarred region into a tourist destination that he dubbed “the Riviera of the Middle East.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced his resignation Monday during a press conference in Ottawa. The move comes after the resignation of Canada’s Finance Minster, Chrystia Freeland, which sparked calls from both sides of the aisle for Trudeau to follow suit. Trudeau said he would remain as Prime Minister and party leader until he is replaced through a party election.

While many on the left defended the community disruptions of the George Floyd protests, the Freedom Convoy’s disruptions are now prompting similar defenses from the right.
