Judge Bruce Schroeder said Thursday that the man ran a red light in pursuit of the bus; he had previously complained about the media's "“grossly irresponsible handling” of the courtroom situation and trial. An NBC News spokesperson said "the freelancer never contacted or intended to contact the jurors during deliberations, and never photographed or intended to photograph them." Jurors concluded a third day of deliberations Thursday without reaching a verdict, and will resume deliberating on Friday morning.

The news was covered across the spectrum Thursday. Right-rated outlets covered the story more prominently and often framed it as an example of media bias.
